Garden birds

We don't get a huge variety of birds in our garden, and the numbers and species of those visiting are getting fewer and fewer. Why is this? The answer is painfully simple. It's not my feline presence. No. It's the continual erosion of habitat. It's been truly heartbreaking to see the number of trees and mature large shrubs that have been needlessly cut down, more than once when birds were nesting in them. The dunnocks bore the brunt of it last year, and haven't been seen since.
